About us
Lifestyle and Art Gallery was founded as a creative sanctuary dedicated to showcasing visual art on all levels inclusive of sculpture, pottery and other art mediums such as African Jewellery, beadwork and textile-based work with a strong emphasis on unique expression.
Artistic Vision
The gallery is curated under the auspices of Mandie Crous.
The Gallery was founded in 2010 as an extension of Mandie’s artistic journey as a versatile artist, mastering styles in oil, acrylic and water colours, having sold numerous art pieces before they were able to be displayed to the public at large.
After years of exploring design, depth, colour, and texture, she envisioned a space where young artists could experience the emotional and transformative power of art in a nurturing environment. In 2016 she established the gallery in fixed premises in Swellendam and in 2019 the Gallery moved to Dana Bay in Mossel Bay.
The gallery offers a peaceful setting that encourages slow and attentive viewing where visitors can step away from daily life and immerse themselves in colour, movement, and emotional reflection. The atmosphere encourages a personal connection with each artwork.
The gallery is guided by two main value propositions:
Unique
To deliver an extremely unique, emotive and imaginative experience for each client that visits the gallery.
Create
To create an environment that provides each artist with a sense of belonging and worth in a broader extremely competitive world of art.
These value propositions are in turn underpinned by three fundamental principles: freedom, excellence, and originality. Freedom reflects the expressive quality of the artworks, Excellence testifies to the professionalism, depth, and craftsmanship of the artist and originality honours the sincerity, distinctiveness and authenticity of the artistic voice.
The gallery welcomes a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, and experimental forms, as long as they remain aligned with the gallery’s core values. Clarity of purpose and the strength of the artistic voice is more important than the medium used.
The gallery undertakes exhibitions regularly throughout the year. Each exhibition is curated to maintain emotional resonance, visual harmony, and alignment with both the audience and the gallery’s values of creativity, excellence, and uniqueness.
